Hulu Desktop gives you a great Apple TV like interface to Hulu. Great for your real TV

I’ve been using Boxee a little bit, but that app is so buggy that I can barely use it. Given 98% of what I watch via Boxee is on Hulu, I’m happy to have (what looks like) a much better way to get to the content.

Gglad I replaced my Apple TV with a Mac Mini. More on that later

  1. What kind of internet connection do you have? Now that Comcast is adding ESPN360, I am definitely considering dropping the cable part of my service, and just relying on them as an ISP. I can do this b/c I tend to average 15-20Mps down.

  2. yeah that makes sense. I watch less and less TV and watch most of it through the internet or DVD. I have web-pass so it’s about 40 down theoretical (15-20 actually)

  3. Definitely tell me how your Mac Mini home theater setup is going. I’m thinking about making the plunge. First need to get my sound system in place though. Tough to do in a small condo cuz you can’t go all out due to noise restrictions with downstairs neighbors.

  4. how fast is your mac mini? I heard you need a 2ghz+ processor. if you’re running on a slower computer, do you notice any lag or stutter?

  5. <html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">Comcast’s press release about ESPN360 just says it’ll be done before the college football season starts. Guess that’s important for ESPNU. <a href=""></a><br><div><div><br></div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"><div style="width: 600px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;" class="PosterousEmail"></div></div></body></html>

  6. @chris: total game-changer for me. that means i’ll get euro champions league soccer next season right here on my laptop. rockin. no work will be done…

  7. I am able to run this with a very moderate lag for short times on a 2ghz P4 with 2gb ram and a 1.5mbps DSL connection. I honestly haven’t turned my TV on in weeks but I watch shows all the time online so I’m going to definitely be using this.
